I downloaded the latest version of TrackerCam for my TrackerPod. When I attempt to use the software, I get a screen telling me I need to buy a power supply. Why is this? It has been working just fine with out one.

It's possible that the software is looking for the TrackerPod in the wrong USB plug. You need to get into Diagnostics and into the Select a TrackerPod menu to see if the TrackerPod is in a different plug.
