How can I make captured surveillance video files smaller?

We found that your CamPanel software is useful for us. But the video recording is using AVI format, it is very big because we will recording the video 24 hours. So do you have the video recording format is mpeg2?

The AVI recording feature you've be using is meant for capturing short movies on the spur of the moment. For real surveillance work, you should be using another feature: scheduled capture. Instead of saving avi movies, it saves individual video stills in the form of jpg files. It saves them at the frame rate you specify. You control the storage requirements by setting the frame rate lower or higher and by setting up a schedule of when capture should be on or off. You can also set it up to capture only when motion is detected.
