Why does my camcorder switch to standby after 5 minutes?

Detailed Question:

I've been using your trackercam seccessfully for a couple of years. Excellent product, but I wanted higher res for surveillance. The powerpod lanc sounded perfect for my sony pc120e, however this model switches itself to standby after 5 mins inactivity, so is unsuitable. Pity, but I thought you might appreciate the info. Please let me know if there is a workaround.

Have you tried removing the tape? This can happen when there is tape in the camcorder.
