Do any of your products allow computer controlled pan, tilt, and ideally photo capture and zoom, using a digital SLR?

Detailed Question:

I had a query regarding your MotorPod Pan/Tilt base. I realise it’s designed for use with a camcorder, but would it be able to be used with a digital SLR camera? If not, would any of your other products allow computer controlled pan, tilt, and ideally photo capture and zoom, using a digital SLR?

Answer:

Yes, you can use a motorpod with a stills camera as long as the camera's weight is under 2 pounds.

For a heavier camera, between .75 pounds - 3 pounds you can choose the PowerPod model.

Either one of the above mentioned pods can be used to pan and tilt from your PC. and includes software.


I don't think that we would have a zoom solution for you unless your SLR had a LANC or FireWire / IE1394 / iLink connection.

Although you may be able to find this through software that is specific to your camera model.
