Does PowerPod-LANC support FireWire (=Non-LANC) zoom?

Detailed Question:

I need a PowerPod. If I get a Power-LANC will it zoom and focus both Sony (using LANC) and Panasonic (using Firewire) camcorders?

Answer:

Yes--the control software includes a check box to let you choose between LANC and FireWire zoom methods. So, even with a PowerPod-LANC, you can use FireWire zoom control (if you are using the Canon ZR or one of the other camcorders listed on the PowerPod page).
