How can I use my sony handycam as a webcam?

I have a sony handycam with a video out on the side with mono audio.  How can I use this as my web cam? Which cables or cards do I need? Do I need a new video card with video in or just a capture card and whats the deal with the firewire what do i need that for if the camera connects with a regular RCA video cord?????

You need a capture card, and DVdriver software, or if you want to control the optical zoom on the camera when you use it as a webcam, you can get a PowerPod-LANC which will unlock the free version of DVdriver.
