Can I take a photos snapshot from the video stream of DVdriver or TrackerCam?

re The robotic pan/tilt/zoom base for the camera - can the photos/video record be taken/activated from the computer? eg if you wanted to take a photo could you click the mouse or something and take a photo?

Yes there are buttons on the software windows / 'Dashboards' that allow you to either take a snap shot or shoot video.
