Why would my video image suddnenly begin zooming, jittering, and fading without me doing anything?

Detailed Question:

After a few minutes of use, the video image I get zooms in, zooms out, jitters, fades to black, and a bunch of other stuff. Is there something wrong?

Answer:

Is it possible that your camcorder has a "Demo Mode" in which it cycles through various special effects that it's capable of doing? What you're describing sounds like that. Some cameras go into this mode automatically if you leave them on without recording. Try looking through the camcorder manual for info on demo mode and how to turn it off.
