Is a half second video delay normal?

Detailed Question:

There seems to be a delay of about 0.5 secs between real life and the image presented on screen. Is this correct; is there anyway to reduce this lag?

Answer:

Unfortunately, the software is doing a LOT of calculations - that is the reason for the delay. There is nothing you can do about that. A 0.5 second delay is actually quite good.
