How do I make my webcam do a continuous surveillance sweep?

Detailed Question:

Can I tell my webcam to scan up and down all the time and never stop until I tell it to?

That is, can I make the camera/mount scan the area that it is in - continously rotating? For example, can I make it first tilt up then pan the whole area and them tilt down and then scan the bottom portion the the area.

Yes, what you need to do is get a TrackerPod and use the surveillance tool of TrackerCam Software:

You can specify a set of viewpoints for the TrackerCam to go through (that is, a set of preset positions), and then you can tell the TrackerCam to continuously cycle through these positions.

You can also choose to save the video to your hard drive but this is optional.
