How do I make my Panasonic PVGVS15 camcorder work like a webcam?

I recently tried the Panasonic PVGVS15 camcorder because they promised it would work as a webcam. It did NOT, unless Messenger was used by both sending and receiving partys. Well we all know this isn't the webcam idea...
